We love working with what already exists: architecture, heirlooms, vintage finds, art, and the pieces you’ve lived with. Then, where needed, we introduce new elements that truly serve the space — from bespoke furnishings to foundational layers like rugs, window treatments, and wall coverings.

Layered House offers full-service interior design for new construction, renovations, and lived-in homes — as well as standalone services for clients who want to refine a space through one focused, high-impact layer.

New Construction + Planning Phase

For projects from the ground up, we collaborate with your architect and builder early to ensure the home is designed with interior function, flow, and proportion in mind from the beginning.

This may include architectural plan review, interior elevations and built-in detailing, kitchen and bath planning support, finish and material direction, lighting coordination, and fixture selections — along with procurement support for specified materials and key selections.

Existing Homes + Full-Service Interior Design

For lived-in spaces, renovations, or homes that need refinement, we develop a complete design plan that balances function, beauty, and story.

This may include space planning, furnishings and textiles, bespoke pieces, foundational layers (rugs, window treatments, and wall coverings), art and antiques sourcing, procurement and order management, and final styling.

Standalone Services

Not every project requires a full redesign. We also offer standalone services for clients who want to refine a space through one focused, high-impact layer — from window treatments and rugs to wall coverings and art + antiques sourcing.

Bespoke Furnishings

When a space calls for something more specific, we design bespoke furnishings tailored to the scale, function, and rhythm of the home. From sofas and chairs to coffee tables and one-of-a-kind pieces, each design is developed to fit the room properly, live beautifully, and feel intentional within the larger story of the space.

We prioritize natural and organic materials whenever possible, including thoughtful textiles and healthier, non-toxic options for upholstered pieces. We believe the health of the home is just as important as its beauty — and the pieces you live with every day should feel as good as they look.
